We ended up at The American Dream Mall to see AC/DC with the Foo Fighters as the special guest at the Metlife Stadium, looking for a place to eat. The choice was easy: as we arrived, we saw House of Que, a Texas BBQ joint that unfortunately closed its doors in Hoboken. So, I was really looking forward to our meal, although I was desesperatly looking for a meat platter I could enjoy: there was none. You could of course get a bunch of meat, but it was by the pound, with a minimum of half a pound, that would still have been too much and a waste as I would not have been able to take any food home. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed what we had. We started of with their Texas 3 cheese nachos ($16.95), where the tortilla chips were topped with cheese (three kinds, no idea what they were), sour cream, pico de Gallo, black beans and corn salad. Good, deliciously messy, but I wished there was more cheese. Still, we enjoyed it. Jodi got their HOQ salad ($14), that was composed of mixed greens, red onions, carrots, tomatoes, black beans, corn salad and cheddar. On my side, I decided to have two appetizers. Of course, I could not miss the Frito pie ($6.50),served in a bag of Fritos that were covered with a superb smoked brisket chili, and cheese. I also got a delicious pork belly (bring on the belly - $14.95), that was house cured, smoked then grilled with a honey bbq sauce and topped with pickled onions. Smokey and deliciously fatty, it is a must have. We did not have dessert there as we had other plans.

Overall, it did not disappoint, besides the absence of a meat platter for one person (they have one for 4 people). I just wished this place was still in Hoboken!
