We were looking for a place to eat before going to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway when we decided to try Revel and Rye in the Marriot Hotel in Times Square. I only went to their lounge for a drink few weeks before and thought that it would be a good idea to try the restaurant, Revel and Rye.
From the beginning, we sensed that we would have to limit our dinner in order not to be late for the show. And we were right: we only ordered a drink, an espresso martini that was quite good, well balanced, and then two entrees that took a very long time to come.
Jodi had their pan seared tofu that was served with farro, quinoa, wheat berries, wild rice, tomato, garlic confit, spinach, red pepper and tahini. This was a decent vegetarian dish, quite tasty.
On my side, I opted for the steak frites where the NY strip, tender and juicy was unfortunately medium rather and medium rare as I ordered it. Still, this was pretty good, the red wine sauce not being necessary as they put a good amount of tarragon butter on it.
As we had to leave, we skipped dessert that was a bit disappointing as I always like to finish a meal with something sweet. I guess that next time, we will stick to Junior’s before going to a show…
Enjoy (…)!
